A converted period home (a former dentist office) was to design an entirely new sitting room scheme around an existing Persian rug. A room central to family entertaining and conversation. Whilst this empty nester wanted everything brand new, we swayed the client towards up cycling much of the existing furniture; convincing her a less-is-more, layered approach is better than catalog-brand-new.
Tonal plain silks, ruche trims, updated lamp shades, combined with an occasional Chintz and Colefax Malabar provided a crispness without alienating the room’s traditional context.
